to make it easier to discuss about AndroVM, I’ve just created a “Google group” dedicated to that purpose.
I think it will be much more convenient than posting comments to this blog.
You can suscribe from here : https://groups.google.com/d/forum/androvm?hl=en

Hi,
It is a good idea but now the questions/answers are scattered at 2 places. Maybe you keep the blog only for announcements without comments and the discussion takes place only at Google group?
Just a thought.
Yes that’s a good idea.
I’ll close comments on the blog.

Selection of German Physical Keyboard for Hardware OpenGL:
Two days ago, I proposed a procedure how to select the German Physical Keyboard for Software OpenGL. To my surprise, I find that the settings (in Languages + Input) that apply for Software OpenGL do not work for Hardware OpenGL.
In fact, so far, I was not able to find any procedure to switch to the German Physical Keyboard for Hardware OpenGL.
Any advice,
volker

(reply to your remark on this matter in the androvm blog)
True, using Hardware OpenGL, I have to select the language (I used german) both in “Translated Set 2 keyboard” and “androVM Virtual Input”. When doing this, the physical keyboard appears to change from US to something like German, but without “ä,ö,ü” and “@”! The procedure for changing the keyboard works for getting back the US english keyboard, though.
I looked into /system/usr/keychars/: I would have expected to find a file like qwertz.kcm or Generic_de.kcm. Instead, I find Generic.kcm, Virtual.kcm, qwerty.kcm and qwerty2.kcm.
Any advice?

I forgot to mention that I could not look into any of the .kcm files in “keychars”: “vi not found”. Which editor could I use?
volker
I have to (re)add busybox including vi.
In the meantime you could just do a “cat” on the file, or pull the file to your host (adb pull …) to read it.
